Born in Tunisia, Tom Dixon moved to England in 1963. He dropped out of Chelsea School of Art to play bass in the band ‘Funkapolitan’ before teaching himself welding and going on to produce furniture. Tom rose to prominence in the mid 1980's as “the talented untrained designer with a line in welded salvage furniture".

Tom on Sub-Zero & Wolf
“I’m on the look out for the rare companies that are the best of their kind, that have an independent perspective and stick to their own set of values, that are complementary to our own vision, which is that we should be surrounded by more substantial, longer lasting honest products that are made to last. That’s why Sub-Zero & Wolf and their robust, industrial-style appliances fit so well into the Dock Kitchen, where we are putting together top quality ingredients from all over the world; including food, furniture and accessories resulting in a never before seen and unique mix of goods.”
The Dock Kitchen is part of the newly redeveloped Portobello Dock complex which is rapidly evolving into West London’s most innovative hub for design and food lovers. It is headed up by culinary rising star Stevie Parle and wine industry expert Nick Trower. With their exacting standards and exceptional talent, they have been instrumental in the rigorous requirements for selecting kitchen equipment of the highest calibre.
